Jewish Life on Campus
Columbia University boasts a long-standing commitment to Israel and Jewish studies, not to mention the oldest program in Yiddish studies in the nation. It is not surprising that Jewish life also thrives on campus. The Kraft Center for Jewish Life, or Hillel, offers students a wide array of programs and groups to choose from—more than forty to be exact. The Columbia and Barnard Jewish community is diverse, and students get involved in many ways, whether culturally, socially, religiously, academically, or through social action or the performing arts. The Kraft Center's staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, and groups are open to all students.
