Magda Teter

Magda Teter, who has published in English, Hebrew, and her native Polish, earned her Ph.D. from Columbia in 2000 and is currently an assistant professor of history at Wesleyan University. Her book Jews and Heretics in Catholic Poland: A Beleaguered Church in the Post-Reformation Era was published by Cambridge University Press in December 2005. She received a subsidy from the Koret Jewish Studies Publications Program for the book manuscript. in 2002 she won the Salo and Jeannette Baron Prize in Jewish Studies for the best dissertation in Jewish studies at Columbia University between 1996 and 2001. Professor Teter has also received fellowships and grants from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, the Dina Abramowicz Emerging Scholar Fellowship from the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, and the Harry Starr Fellowship in Judaica at Harvard University.
