Acclaimed Israeli actor Roy Assaf (Ophir Award winner for Wounded Land and God's Neighbors) co-writes and stars in his feature directing debut about a high school drama teacher who stages vivid cabaret shows in his Negev town’s community center. When a comment to his students makes him a target of social media rage, his art and life merge in escalating performances of 21st-Century anxiety.
Assaf sings, dances, juggles, and monologues in a virtuosic performance, shot with Ophir-Award-winning cinematography reminiscent of the Oscar-winning Birdman. Frequent attendees at IIJS film events will recognize Roy Assaf from his films Matchmaking, All I Can Do, and Wedding Doll.
